The 2022 Porsche Panamera: Maybe the Most Comfortable Sports Car on the Market Today.

The 2022 Porsche Panamera was created to meet your everyday needs without sacrificing great power and performance. Think of it as a super sports car for the whole family. Available as a sleek wagon, a sporty hatchback-style sedan or an extended-wheelbase sedan, the Panamera has you covered. And, it’s available in several powertrains, including including a V6, a turbocharged V8 and a hybrid. In other words, the Panamera is everything you’d expect from a Porsche. Sportiness. Great handling. Power. But its interior also makes it the most comfortable sports car on the market in 2022. Let’s take a look at some of the comfort features on the Panamera that make it one of the best luxury cars of 2022: As a Porsche, the front of the cabin is, of course, focused on you - the driver. But in the back, relaxed serenity reigns supreme. There’s generous space for your passengers and the large luggage compartment under the wide opening tailgate keeps space freed up inside the cabin. Folding rear seat backrests allow larger cargo to be transported as well. Clearly, not your typical sports car. But a sports car just the same. In front, the driver and passenger seat offer a high level of comfort and provide lateral back support in fast corners. Among other things, the seat height, cushion and backrest angles and forward/backward positions are electrically adjustable. All without restricting freedom of movement. The 14-way, electric Power Seats offer additional cushion length adjustment and four-way lumbar support for driver and front passenger. And best of all, the memory function stores settings for seats, steering column, exterior mirrors and other items. Need even better lateral back support? The 18-way, electric Adaptive Sport Seats may be just what your doctor ordered, allowing you raise the side bolsters on the cushion and backrest. They offer you and your passengers comfort on long journeys and made-to-measure lateral support in the corners. The rear seats come with an abundance of leg and headroom and effective lateral support during cornering without sacrificing comfort. Power Seats with backrest adjustment, cushion length adjustment and lumbar support are also available for the rear seat, according to Porsche. And depending on the equipment you choose, the front passenger seat can also be adjusted from the rear. Along with the Adaptive Sport Seats in front, the rear seats are also designed as Sport Seats and include raised side bolsters that will keep you and your passengers comfy on even the longest road trips. To recap, here’s a look at the comfort features you'll love inside the 2022 Porsche Panamera: -Electric-power seats are standard and include heated seats and comfort headrests with contoured side bolsters for added comfort. -A large rear center console is available for the Executive models and offers additional storage space as well as a further smartphone compartment, additional USB interfaces and a 12 V and 230 V socket. -The front seats provide a very high level of comfort and provide support around dynamic corners without restricting freedom of movement. -In the front, the seat height, backrest angles and fore/aft position are able to be electronically adjusted. -The front seats of all new Panamera 4S models – and the rear seats of the Panamera Turbo – include seat heating for added comfort. -Seat ventilation with active aeration of the perforated seat center and backrest – is optional. -An optional massage function in the powered seats (front and rear) includes five programs and five intensity levels to choose from, 10 air cushions in each backrest that provide a relaxing rub for the muscles. -Ambient lighting, including rear interior lighting, is an option that is designed to enhance passenger comfort. -You can decide on design, including seat variants, leather or two-tone interior schemes, fine wood and metal finishes. -In the Sport Turismo models, the 4+1 seating concept is standard and comprises two full-size individual seats outside left and right and one center seat in place of the storage compartment.

Porsche OEM roof boxes and transport systems allow you to easily adapt your Porsche to your requirements – whether it’s quick summer fun or a multi-state road trip. Available in high gloss black or in Platinum Look – always with the Porsche logo on both sides – Porsche OEM roof boxes are unmistakably Porsche design. All roof boxes are provided with longitudinal air channels, which minimize air resistance and distracting driving noises. A Porsche brand roof box increases your car’s luggage compartment capacity by 320 or 530 liters. All Porsche OEM roof boxes are mounted on the roof transport system. Attention should be paid to the permissible roof load of the vehicle when loading. You can find this information in the owner’s manual. The roof boxes can be opened and closed from both sides. The intelligent safety locking system ensures maximum transport safety as the key can only be removed when the lid is fully closed. With the lockable roof transport system, roof boxes are also protected from theft. All Porsche roof boxes can be pushed forward or backward on the roof transport system to perfectly position the roof box and allow unrestricted access to the luggage compartment. Roof boxes can be installed in a few simple steps. Due to the sizes of the roof boxes, we recommend using two people to install them. To secure the roof box on the vehicle roof you must have a roof transport system. The 320-liter roof box: High-quality plastic box, available in black (high-gloss) Volume: approx. 11.3 cu. ft./320 liters External dimensions: 6.75 x 2.75 x 1.11ft (length x width x height) Internal dimensions: approx. 6.43 x 2.43 x 1.08ft (length x width x height) Dead weight: 39.6 lbs The Porsche logo on both sides matches your car perfectly and ensures an individual look. The roof box is lockable. The system also ensures maximum transport safety, as the key can only be removed when the roof box is fully closed. The roof box has an anti-slip mat at the bottom of the box to help with secure loading. The roof box can be opened from either side. This simplifies both the loading and unloading of the box. The 520-liter roof box: High-quality plastic box, available in black (high-gloss) Volume: approx. 18.3 cu. ft./520 liters. External dimensions: 7.15 x 2.93 x 1.31ft (length x width x height) Internal dimensions: approx. 6.72 x 2.55 x 1.11ft (length x width x height) Deadweight: 57.3 lbs The Porsche logo on both sides matches your car perfectly and ensures an individual look. The roof box is lockable. The system also ensures maximum transport safety, as the key can only be removed when the roof box is fully closed. The roof box can be opened from either side. This simplifies both the loading and unloading of the box. The roof box has an integrated ski-holder system Bike Rack Your car and your bike complement each other perfectly – you may even have a Porsche brand bicycle to match your 911. After all, Porsche is a master at combining sporty driving with other kinds of sport - such as bike riding. And with a bicycle rack from Porsche Tequipment, you can plan a fun outing that includes a scenic country road or a ride through a forest. The Porsche OEM bicycle racks are available in various designs for the various models in the Porsche car range. A roof-mounted bicycle rack, whether it's designed for conventional bikes or for racing bikes, is a popular accessory for transporting two-wheelers on the car roof. Both the regular bike carrier and the racing bike carrier are mounted on the roof transport system. Up to three bike carriers can be mounted on the roof transport system. One racing bike carrier can hold one racing bike. Up to two racing bike carriers including front wheel holders can be mounted on the roof transport system. Both the bike carrier and the racing bike carrier enable unrestricted access to the luggage compartment. Keep in mind: A roof transport system is required for mounting a bike carrier or racing bike carrier on the roof of the vehicle. Floor Mats When it comes to your Porsche you want and deserve precision down to the very last detail. Porsche OEM tailored floor mats allow you to set those accents to your own preferences, even in the footwell of your cabin. When you pay a premium price for your luxury vehicle, every single spec of the car should be top-notch, right? The exterior of the car is already pristine in terms of design, and the engine has unmatched power. The seats are also made of perfect leather. And yet industrywide, the standard for floor mats is still very low. Why not purchase Porsche OEM floor mats that look good and protect your car in a way that other mats can’t? They are made to fit your model right down to the last centimeter. You want to be sure your mat is all-weather and capable of withstanding all of the elements including snow, rain, and mud. With proper care, they are guaranteed to hold up for years to come. They have to work well and look good. They have to be Porsche OEM floor mats. Car Covers A car cover can help protect your Porsche whether it’s sitting in a garage or a carport. Using a car cover will keep your Porsche much cleaner and save you a lot of time and money in terms of washing the car. You need a car cover especially if your Porsche sits outside for any period of time. Sun exposure can damage exterior paint as well as the dashboard and upholstery. So in order to preserve your car and its value be sure to use a cover. We recommend OEM Porsche car covers that are designed to fit your specific Porsche model like a glove. That means your car, when parked outside your home or inside your garage won’t be making contact with the sun (unless you are driving) or with dust, chemicals, leaves, and sap. The cover will also help keep your exterior paint from fading or scratching. And the interior will last longer as well. A cover also helps deter thieves who can’t see exactly what is under the sheath without approaching the vehicle. So when in doubt, cover it up! Porsche OEM covers are manufactured after taking precise measurements to fit your model so they fit every angle of your auto. They fit better and look better than universal covers. Indoor covers provide a very soft material that pampers the paint while protecting it from scratches and dings from other cars. Outdoor car covers have more rugged materials that help protect your vehicle from the sun and other harsh elements. They are waterproof and can save your car from ice, snow, bird droppings and squirrels, and other critters. So what’s the best car cover for you Porsche? An OEM Porsche cover, of course. They are customized to your model, tailored to indoor or outdoor use, all around just perfect for your Porsche, whether it’s a 911 Carrera, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Taycan, 918 Spyder, Carrera GT, or Panamera model. There are also specific covers for the 959, 924, 944, 968, 356, and GT1 models. Towing Hitch A trailer hitch is the main connector between a tow vehicle and trailer. It’s also the structural component that bolts onto the vehicle and provides a coupling point to hook up a trailer. And a Porsche OEM towing hitch ensures that you are not going to damage your car or the mass that you are towing. The Porsche Cayenne, for instance, has a towing capacity of over 7,000 pounds. The Cayenne is quite simply the most versatile vehicle Porsche has ever built. This includes the capability of being used as a tow vehicle. All Porsche Cayenne models have trailer-hitch preparation as standard equipment (except the Hybrid model). With its exceptional towing capacity, the Cayenne takes you down the road as perhaps no Porsche ever before. A factory retrofit kit includes a manually detachable trailer hitch that accommodates a maximum braked trailer weight of 7,716 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 617 pounds. Keep in mind: The V6 models with a manual transmission have a lower towing capacity. The kit comes with a brake light module, wiring harness, and bolts necessary for installation as well as a 13-pin socket. For more details contact us today. Tread Plates A treadplate is also known as a floor plate or a diamond plate or even a diamond tread plate. It provides a durable, anti-slip surface for dock surfaces, vehicle running boards, among other things. It’s resistant to weathering, corrosion, and chemicals and should require no maintenance or surface treatments – especially if you choose a Porsche OEM tread plate. A good tread plate is lightweight but durable. It’s also easy to clean and non-skid, as well as being highly resistant to corrosion. For more information on Porsche OEM tread plates reach out to us today. Embark upon a voyage of discovery. Explore something new every day. Because the possibilities are almost limitless. Your life is not designed for standing still. Just as well. After all, neither is your Porsche. And so that you can always focus on the essentials – driving pleasure – before, during, and after your journey, our products ensure that everything you transport is well protected.

Beau Robinson Combines Passion for Porsche with Passion for Art

Porsche Palm Springs is excited to have world-class painter Beau Robinson’s work featured here as part of our celebration of the city’s Modernism Week, Feb. 17-27. If there ever was a Porsche artist, it’s Beau. A lifelong fan of fast cars and Steve McQueen, Beau cultivated his love for art by immersing himself in the world of Porsche. Working with a variety of mediums, including acrylic, watercolor, and pen and ink, he seeks to capture the feeling of motion in his work. He will show his art in our Porsche Center from Feb. 11 through Feb. 19. His show also aligns with the Palm Springs Fine Art Introspect Feb. 10 through 13. We’ll be offering drinks and small bites as part of the show throughout the day on Feb. 11 and 12 as well as Feb. 18 and 19. Come join us at the Porsche Platz as we celebrate these events with Beau’s incredible paintings of Porsche cars. Beau lives and works in a beach city in Southern California with his fiancé – just a few blocks from the ocean. He has a deep family connection to Palm Springs through his aunt, who was also a fine artist and showed her work in local galleries in the 1980s under the name Raejeanne. Among other things, Beau's work has been shown at the Porsche Experience Center, Sofitel, and the PCA  Concours D’ Elegance. We decided to chat with Beau and find out more about him before his work lands at Porsche Palm Springs next month. Can you tell us about yourself and describe your mission as a fine artist? My name is Beau Robinson and I am 50 years old. I live in Southern California, where I start my day surfing. I have two grown children, a girl, and boy, ages 29 and 24, and they live in Austin Texas. I spent most of my career in construction, kitchen, and bath design as well as real estate and I trained/taught martial arts. I had always planned to one day make martial arts my full-time focus. I hold multiple black belts in modern and traditional martial arts and am a second-generation student of Bruce Lee. But life takes some interesting twists and turns. Today, my mission is to create automotive-themed fine art that is hung in the front room and not the garage. How did you become an artist? I closed a few businesses back in 2008 and had back surgery in 2009 - so I was a bit lost at the time. I was broke and broken and decided to move back to California where I grew up. I had lived in Seattle for 20 years and always missed the beach. When I returned to CA I was still in physical therapy for my back and spent the first few months rehabbing it by walking the beach on the sand and strand. During my recovery, I started drawing and painting - all mediums. I was working in a few bars, usually as a host/bouncer so I could spend that time on my feet instead of sitting which was still very difficult. Writing beer lists and drawing cartoons on bar chalkboards got me used to people watching me work, commenting on my work, and having to look at it and see every mistake the entire shift. I would draw and paint anything that I found interesting. I had no formal training so I was learning composition, shading, color theory, storytelling etc., through trial and error. But I also had the freedom of having no rules. The work started selling locally and I organized a few shows bringing in other artists. How did you get into painting Porsches? I have three original 356 Porsches on my street and would take plenty of pictures of them each day as I walked through the neighborhood. My fiancé was starting a new position in a new facility and from past experience, I knew this would mean a year of long days and crazy schedules that would make it ideal for me to just paint. I stacked up 60-plus pieces of Porsche-themed paintings, both acrylic on canvas and watercolor on paper. I had a chance to rewrite my future and painting the things that excited me was a freedom I now had in my new pursuit. I had no idea that I would find painting in my 40’s and pursue it full time having so much fun. I loved the beach culture of California and Porsche is very much a part of that. My subject matter ranges from pop art, shark and octopus, nudes, and Porsche. In fact, about 90 percent of my work is Porsche. And were you able to bring your work directly to Porsche? I began actively seeking a place to show the work and eventually held a solo show at the Porsche Experience Center  where I debuted these pieces to the public, including a large unveiling of the Pink Pig 911 RSR. I felt honored to pull off that special covering with the big Porsche crest on it and show a roomful of Porsche people my newest piece. The following year I held shows for  Porsche France, and the Concours d’ Elegance event for PCA. After a pause in shows over the last two years, I was approached by Porsche Cars North America and asked to submit a proposal and mockup for an art car. I had something in mind already and had been searching for a car to paint and it found me. The canvas would be a new white Porsche Taycan. My design was selected from a handful of artists, and I completed the DNA Art Car live in front of a crowd at PECLA’s 5 year anniversary event. Any exciting plans for the future? I am always painting, if not on canvas then in my head. I have so many pieces in my mind I haven’t had a chance to paint yet, and that drives me to get them out and make room for more. I connected with Porsche Palm Springs because we spend time there every year and always stop in to say hello and take photos. It took a few years to figure out how to create an event that would be beneficial for all parties and Intersect/Modernism seemed a great fit. My aunt was a professional artist and got her start by showing in the galleries of Palm Springs, and I had a sentimental vision of following her path in this area. Most of my work is shown locally near the city where I live. Social media has been where I get the most interest in my work. I found a family and a source of endless inspiration in Porsche. I would love to eventually make it into Christophorus Magazine, collaborate with Porsche on shoes and a watch, and continue to work with Porsche Cars North America on future projects. Interested in purchasing one of his pieces? You can reach out to Beau through his website at www.therealbeaurobinson.com or on Instagram and Facebook at @therealbeaurobinson.

Michael Schlutz - Porsche Palms Springs Technician

Meet Michael: One of Porsche Palm Springs' Gold Certified Porsche Technicians

Porsche Palm Springs is home to three Gold Certified Porsche Technicians. Porsche’s worldwide Certified Porsche Technician program offers technicians regular training on brand new, late model and vintage Porsche vehicles. The technicians’ knowledge is then certified through successive levels of qualification education and testing:  Bronze, then Silver, and finally Gold. As technicians move up the various levels, they first participate in Porsche training courses and then take theory exams to ensure understanding. After achieving Bronze Certification, for instance, the technicians graduate to much more complex practical exams, working on training vehicles. These hands-on exams take several hours and simulate real world conditions. To become a Porsche Gold Certified Technician , a Porsche technician is given a certain amount of time in which to accurately diagnose and repair multiple issues in a test vehicle. This entire process can take years. We had the opportunity to sit down and talk to one of our Gold Certified Porsche Technicians, Michael Schultz, and ask him about his work at Porsche Palm Springs. Q. Tell us how you became interested in this work and ended up at Porsche Palm Springs? A. I've always had an interest in taking things apart and learning how they worked. I found an interest in the automotive field when I learned to drive and got my first car. After high school, my father suggested attending the Universal Technical Institute in Rancho Cucamonga in order to make a career in the automotive repair field. After completing automotive technology training in 2005, I was offered my first position as a lube technician at an Infiniti Dealership in Thousand Oaks, CA. I quickly moved through the ranks, and after eight years of training and testing, I became Infiniti Master Certified. With all that time in the industry I started looking for a new challenge and ladder to climb and I found that at Porsche Rancho Mirage, now known as Porsche Palm Springs - one of the finest Porsche dealers anywhere. Q. What are your professional duties at this dealership and what kind of services do you offer? A. At Porsche Palm Springs I service and maintain every modern Porsche vehicle from entry level Macans to super and hyper cars such as Carrera GT's and 918 Spyders. I have achieved Gold Level certification and enjoy expanding my knowledge of the brand. I'm more drawn to and enjoy the exclusivity of the sportier GT models and super cars. Q. What is special about working here? A. Porsche Palm Springs is a Gen 5 building, the first of its kind currently in the world. The unique design and layout provide an exceptional work experience and environment. I am one of only three Gold Level technicians here, and only one of two techs certified to service the 918 Spyder and Carrera GT. Probably the most involved and exciting job I have done at Porsche Palm Springs is replacing the rear main seal on a 918 Spyder. That job includes literally splitting the car in half to remove the engine and transmission. The level of detail and precision required is like nothing else I've ever done. Every piece of that vehicle is made of carbon fiber, so extreme care must be given to insure nothing is broken or damaged during the process. All exterior body panels were removed, including doors, to access the impressive yet delicate carbon body and framework. Special tools had to be rented from Porsche for the job, since this is so rarely done. Once the rear of the vehicle is separated from the front, then the engine and transmission can be removed from the cradle. From there the transmission with high voltage components was separated from the engine to gain access to the rear main seal. The whole job was very exciting, rewarding - and satisfying once it was all put back together and running as designed. That was definitely the highlight of my career up to that point. Q. What was it like to become Gold Level certified? A. It took me about six years to earn my Gold level certification. The process entailed eight core instructor led classes, countless hours of online training, and online and in-person testing. In 2018, I got the opportunity to travel to Atlanta to train and become certified to service 918 Spyder and Carrera GT's. I'm also hybrid certified which is a Gold Level requirement Q. How is life in the desert outside of work? A. I've worked in the Palm Springs area for six years. I live in nearby Yucca Valley. I like just about anything outdoors and enjoy the open spaces that the desert provides. Some of my interests and hobbies include hiking, off-roading and adventuring with the family. I also enjoy building and flying large scale radio-controlled aircraft. I've been married for 12 years and have 2 boys ages 3 and 7. Q. Anything else you’d like to add? A. I love that I get to come to work every day to service and maintain these amazing machines. They are very rewarding and sometimes difficult to work on. But they are like nothing else. Don't forget to schedule your Porsche service with Porsche Palm Springs today.

The Sizzling Porsche Panamera is Far From Just Another Sedan

The Panamera is rated as one of the No. 1 Luxury Automobiles in the World For a Reason. Does a sporty sedan have to look like any other sedan? According to Porsche, the answer is a resounding “No!” Could a sedan be both dynamic and more efficient while seating four people? If it’s a Porsche, the answer is “Yes!” Porsche believes that the more visionary an idea is at the start the more exciting it is at the end. It’s something worth fighting for. Something worth the wait. And fortunately, the wait is over. Welcome to the world of the Porsche Panamera. Whether it’s the Panamera, the Panamera Executive, or Panamera Sport Turismo the silhouette and proportions are unmistakably Porsche: Athletic, streamlined, with clear contours and powerful muscles. Take, for instance, the visual dynamism of the long wheelbase and shorter overhang at the front and longer overhang at the rear. Or, the prominent sculpting of the side profile that creates the trademark Porsche waistline and sense of lightness. Car & Driver has described the Panamera as having “agile handling and a smooth ride.” And it’s equipped with the optional adjustable air suspension – making it a thrill to drive. With all the comfort, luxury, and tech you’d expect of a four-door hatchback Porsche. “It has the look and the performance of a Porsche, but the Panamera has four doors and a roomy trunk, which help make its case as a daily driver. Its practicality doesn't tarnish its sporting character, though. It's nearly as agile and communicative as the brand's sports cars,” according to Car & Driver’s glowing review. A boosted engine is of course standard (if you can even use the word "standard" to describe anything related to a Porsche). And some models are Turbo. It’s no wonder the Porsche Panamera is currently rated as one of the top luxury cars in the world. Here’s what US News and World Report had to say when adding the Panamera to its recent list of top 10 luxury automobiles. “ The Porsche Panamera ranks near the top of the super-luxury car class, owing to its poised ride and handling, searing engine performance, spacious interior, and good predicted reliability.” The publication pointed to the Panamera’s comfortable high-end interior, powerful engine, and poised rides as being among its attributes. “Porsche’s four-door hatchback Panamera has everything you’d expect of a Porsche. In other words, this four-door hatchback is a thrill to drive – without sacrificing the luxury and comfort you want in your day-to-day life. It’s important to note that the standard rear-wheel-drive model and all-wheel-drive option both feature a 325-horsepower turbocharged 2.6-liter V-6. With the 4S model you get a 440 hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that takes you from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches an enviable top speed of 179. Upgrading to the Panamera GTS gives you a 473-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The Executive models feature a longer wheelbase and offer more rear-seat legroom than the standard body. Chassis and control systems on all models have been tuned for the perfect balance between agility and comfort. The roomy interior cabin is as luxurious as it is practical. Other upgrades include massaging seats and leather-covered climate-control vents as well as a fire extinguisher. You can also opt for ventilated seats, soft-close doors, four-zone automatic climate control, and a power-operated rear. The high-tech center console is home to a plethora of touch-sensitive controls for climate control and other function. You get 18 cubic feet of luggage space. So whether you’re powering across the desert or picking up groceries in town, this Porsche has everything you need to get it done with a price starting at $88,400. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful model in the Panamera line and the second most powerful car Porsche currently sells, carrying a 563 horsepower, four-liter twin-turbo V8 with a 134 hp electric motor. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is equipped with a new 17.9 kWh battery that is 27 percent more energy-dense than before and includes optimized driving modes. Finally, the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid boasts an electric motor that is paired with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, producing 455 hp. Moreover, a new generation of steering control calibration and new tires improves lateral dynamics and offers even greater handling precision. Optional adaptive air suspension improves the hatchback’s ride and handling. According to US News and World Report, the Porsche Panamera is worth considering if you’re shopping for a high-end luxury car. Not only is it eye-catching, fun to drive, and practical but it’s a Porsche and everything that entails.

Porsche 911 Sport Chrono Palm Springs

Sport Chrono Package Enables Even Sportier Tuning of Your Porsche

Sport Chrono Package for Porsche. You’ve heard of it. Maybe even purchased it. But what, exactly, is it? In short, the Sport Chrono Package enables an ultra sporty tuning of the Porsche chassis, engine and transmission - allowing you to adapt your Porsche to the exact way you want to drive it. According to Porsche, the key component of the Sport Chrono Package is the mode switch on the steering wheel. Without moving your hand from the steering wheel, you can choose any of the four settings: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. In combination with Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK or – in English - Porsche double-clutch transmission) the Sport Chrono Package gives you three additional functions, according to Porsche. The first is Launch Control, which can be used to achieve the best possible standing start. The second function is the motorsportderived gearshift strategy. In this mode, PDK is geared up for extremely short shift times and optimum shift points for the maximum acceleration available. The third function is SPORT Response. Pressing the button in the center of the mode switch primes the engine and transmission for the fastest possible unleashing of power, according to Porsche. In other words, you get maximum responsiveness for a period of 20 seconds. A timer graphic in the instrument cluster tells you how long is left. The Sport Chrono Package also includes Dynamic Engine Mounts. The electronically controlled system minimizes the perceptible oscillations and vibrations of the entire drivetrain, particularly the engine, and combines the benefits of a hard or soft engine mounting arrangement. In short, it enhances both driving stability and driving comfort. The Sport Chrono Package now also includes the Porsche Track Precision App, which allows you to clock lap times and collate driving stats, record and manage the results on your smartphone and share them with other drivers for comparison. The app makes use of GPS and high-precision data from the on-board computer and helps you to better your driving performance. Graphical and video analyses display every millisecond of your potential for improvement. Lap after lap. So which Porsche models include Sport Chrono as an option? The following models: 911 718 Cayman 718 Boxster Macan Cayenne Panamera To recap, Sport Chrono, now one of the most popular upgrades available for Porsche, features: A stopwatch mounted on the dashboard for a more upscale interior. Dynamic engine mounts for enhanced driving stability and comfort due to reduction in vibrations throughout the drivetrain. The steering wheel with a switch that allows the driver to change the performance profile of their vehicle within four modes: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. Paired with the Porsche Doppelkupplung, the package introduces Launch Control, which gives the vehicle a racecar-like start function. Working with PDK provides unique and racing-derived gear-shifting strategies for the lightning-quick acceleration. A Sport Response that ramps up the engine and transmission to unleash maximum power for about 20 seconds - giving you incredible acceleration and responsiveness. And now there’s even a collection of timepieces inspired by the Chrono Sports Package. The Sport Chrono Collection of timepieces transforms the timeless design of Porsche automobile instruments into exclusive Subsecond and Chronograph watches. With the Sport Chrono Collection of timepieces you can bring home the familiar 42 mm version, the Sport Chrono Subsecond watch is now also available with a case diameter of 39 mm. But no matter which model you choose: both sizes of the Subsecond watch bring the ultimate sports car feeling to your wrist.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is One of the Fastest Electric Cars in the World

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is One for the Record Books: There’s No Doubt About it You knew the Porsche Taycan Turbo S was fast. But did you know this EV is one of the fastest cars in the world – faster than most gasoline-powered cars. Not only does it hold the Guiness Book of World Records time for fastest indoor speed of any type of vehicle but some argue that it’s faster than any Tesla model on the market. (It’s a controversial claim but it sure is a close call). The Taycan Turbo S churns out a maximum of 750 hp. It has four wheel drive to maximize grip. It also has powerful carbon ceramic brakes and the ability to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. (Though some test drives have shown 2.4 seconds). That’s fast. The Taycan’s world indoor speed record was set at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. more “I didn’t really appreciate the scale of the record attempt until my first exploratory run. The surface is so unpredictable, so slick, that you have to have complete trust in your car. It truly was like ice – and you’re accelerating flat out, facing a really hard wall at the end. Suddenly, even in a massive space like the one we had, it seems very small,” driver Leh Keen told Porsche after his record attempt. “I could feel the Taycan’s systems figuring it out, working so hard to keep me heading straight – it was such an impressive feat. To accelerate so hard on such an erratic surface was incredible.” In the end Keen accelerated the Porsche Taycan to 102.6 mph inside an exhibition hall in New Orleans, Louisiana. In doing so, he set the world record for the fastest speed driven by a vehicle inside an enclosed building. Until recently the Guinness World Records title for the fastest speed by a vehicle indoors was just 86 mph. The rules – strictly enforced by Guinness World Records - are not easy ones. Leh had to start his record attempt - and finish it - at a standstill. While staying within the space of the building. There could be no run up, no safety net and no doors open and therefore no escape route. And that’s why the record has stood at 86 mph for the last seven years. The Porsche Taycan can go from zero to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds. The Taycan is the first generation EV and comes with an 800-volt electrical system and a two-speed transmission. It has a very fast recharge time and superb acceleration, respectively. A recent head-to-head battle mentioned Top Gear put the Taycan on top in the speed category. “The two cars were extremely close from zero to 60, with the Taycan prevailing at  2.61 seconds to the Tesla's 2.68,” according to blogger Steven Loveday, adding that the finding was controversial. “As it turns out, the Taycan's transmission situation appears to give it the edge here. However, until we get both cars on the same track at the same time with comparable tires, multiple runs, driver switches, etc., we may as well call it a draw, though we're confident many people will be very upset by that assumption.” To recap, Loveday’s analysis: The Porsche Taycan Turbo S has a claimed 0-60 of 2.6 seconds, and a top speed of 161 mph.  The Tesla Model S Performance has a claimed 0-60 of 2.4 seconds, and a top speed of 163 mph. But when you look at the two vehicles drivetrains, you'll find the Porsche might actually have an advantage as a result of the transmission. Here’s why: The Taycan has two gears for the rear axle, and a single gear for the front axle. The rear gear ratios are 15.563 for first, and 8.05 for second. The front axle also has a gear ratio of 8.05:1. If there's an EV-related record, Porsche has probably thought about breaking it with the Taycan—or already set it. So far it is the fastest four-door EV around the Nurburgring track. In the Turbo S trim it’s also the fastest EV on the Road Atlanta track. And, as mentioned above, it’s the fastest car in the world when it comes to indoors. According to Motor Trend the floors in the NOCC are polished concrete, and that makes them much more slippery than normal road surfaces. So, the Taycan's tires were heated for a little extra grip. Also, this Taycan had no headlights because of a stipulation that required any car attempting to set a new record be non-homologated. So what makes the Porsche Taycan Turbo S so fast? The Taycan has dual electric motors, one that powers the front wheels and the other powering the rear. And they produce separate outputs that vary by trim. For instance, the 4S generates up to 522 horsepower with the standard 79.2-kWh battery and up to 562 horses with the optional 83.7-kWh pack. The latter comes standard on the top models, the 670-hp Turbo and the 750-hp Turbo S. The base model is rear-wheel-drive only, but it can be paired with either battery size. Its single electric motor generates up to 402 hp with the smaller battery and up to 469 hp with the bigger one. All Taycan models also have an innovative two-speed transmission that provides a thrilling shift during hard acceleration.

Meet Flora Porsche Palm Springs First Saleswoman

Meet Flora: Porsche Palm Spring's First Woman in Sales

Flora Lopez is a rarity in the already rarefied world of luxury automobile sales in the Coachella Valley. Not only was she born and raised in Palm Springs but she is the first woman to join the elite sales force at Porsche Palm Springs. Being a Sales Representative/Brand Ambassador for Porsche is not something Lopez ever imagined while growing up in Palm Springs, but as a veteran of just about every other aspect of the high-end auto retail business, she seems right at home in the male-dominated world of luxury sportscars. “I did not ever see myself joining a sales department long-term. I started as a receptionist at another luxury car dealership and tried sales for a month or so and did not like the pressure of selling, meeting quotas and so on and so forth. So I dove into the service department, which I enjoyed. I learned all of the ins and outs of cars and engaged with clients on a different level due to the fact that they already owned their car.” more Lopez joined indiGO Auto Group, the Houston-based company that owns Porsche Palm Springs, in 2017 as a Customer Service/Reception Director. A year later she joined the marketing team as the Marketing & Events Coordinator. As the pandemic unfolded the marketing team was reduced and an outside marketing firm took over much of the workload. “That helped pave the way for me to join the sales force at Porsche Palm Springs. And though it’s an unexpected twist in my rise up the ladder I’m delighted. Porsche has always been a different caliber within all of the brands.” As a native of the Coachella Valley, she’s able to offer a different perspective on the local experience when it comes to Porsche and all things Palm Springs. What’s it like to be the first woman salesperson/brand ambassador at Porsche Palm Springs? I’ve never put much thought into it to be honest. I am honored, however, thanks to my team. They believed in me and were encouraging of me getting into sales, especially in light of me being very new to the brand. Porsche certainly puts you through extensive training. It’s important to understand the heritage and culture of the brand. Due to my history of already working with other car brands/dealerships, things happened quite quickly when I started officially and solely at Porsche in recent years. I was hired first as the Customer Service Director/Supervisor and oversaw all receptionists and service receptionist. I also built a training manual and trained them for all of our brands that fall under the indiGO auto group umbrella. A little after a year, I transitioned into marketing as the Marketing & Events Coordinator before COVID took place and caused a lot of change within our company/auto group. By the end of 2020, I returned to work and joined the Porsche team. The luxury car industry has traditionally been very male dominated. Has it been challenging to break through that boundary? It is very male dominated. Coming up on 10 years in the automotive business I’ve worked with very few women. But the ones I have worked with are amazing, powerful and intelligent women. It’s a rush to keep up with these men and the cars: Whether it’s the knowledge of specific car brands – specs, power, features - or how to create interest when it comes to sales and/or benefit our car brand. Are there any particular Porsche models you love to sell or are particularly excited about for the coming year? My favorite models to sell are the gems: the 911 Turbo/S, GT3 RS and I would love to sell a 918 Spyder or a classic 964 series 911 Turbo. The Taycan, our first all-electric sedan, has been the newest and most fun Porsche model to experience and sell. It has been a learning curve for many of us to adjust from a gasoline engine to an all-electric 800-volt battery car that you charge like you charge an iPhone. The next and second Porsche model that will be released as all electric is the crossover between the Panamera and the Taycan. I’m definitely excited for that upcoming model later in the year. I can confidently say that sales will do well. I’m currently in the midst of learning all about financing. What’s special about working at Porsche Palm Springs? Porsche is a different caliber of car brand and customers. Porsche owners are passionate about their automobiles in a way no other automotive marque can match. It is amazing the knowledge most Porsche owners have about a specific car, especially if they really are a Porsche enthusiast. Porsche has a very long history, so it is fascinating to hear stories of customers and the classics they have owned, say, perhaps, a 1972 911 Targa. Every day I learn something new about Porsche, whether it be something about a specific car model or the history of the Porsche family and the brand itself. There’s a lot of pride in representing the Porsche brand. However, at this particular dealership the team is what makes it great. From my General Manager, Bram, all the way to the carwash/detail men, Anthony and Sergio. Both sales manager, Justin and Hanns, are exceptional leaders. They are all motivators and team players. I have about 10 years in the car business and I have never worked with managers that were so hands on and encouraging - and overall helpful when it comes to executing a one-of-a-kind Porsche buying experience. If I need to schedule service on behalf of my clients, Bryce, the Service Advisor, or Jennifer, the Service Receptionist, are always accommodating. I know that when my clients are in the waiting lounge they are attended to and in great hands with Lesley, the Customer Experience Coordinator. Brenda, the sweetest, most attentive and best front desk receptionist greets all of my clients. All of our Brand Ambassadors - Adam, Chad, Nate, Polo, and myself, are a dynamic team if I may say so. We handle a lot within our store and I am proud to say every single person owns and works their title to their best abilities.  At Porsche Palm Springs, our customers come by just to say hi, drop off a thoughtful gift, or bring laptop and work in our office area. Sometimes they just have morning coffee and enjoy the environment. We want customers and prospective customers to feel welcome and comfortable even if they are just bringing their car in for service and wanting to catch up on life. How did the pandemic and quarantine impact your career? I was placed on furlough once the pandemic took hold. To be honest, I enjoyed the time off. It was the uncertainty of what your next step should be career-wise that was unnerving. But personally, I was able to be with my little one. She was at the perfect age where her personality was really starting to unfold. I’m glad I was home for that the time and had a chance to spend quality time with my family while also reconnecting with myself. I began hiking our beautiful mountains again and now enjoy taking my daughter with me. It was a good ‘’pause’’ from the daily work routine most of us go through. For a moment, I was able to sleep in, not worry about getting ready other than taking showers and putting on comfy clothes. I got to follow my little one’s lead on whatever she wanted to do. What’s a typical day off like for you and do you have any favorite local hot spots? It’s unpredictable. Primarily, it is spent with my 4-year-daughter and my little family. We do family road trips out of the desert. That’s the beauty about living two hours from just about any kind of destination/attraction – from beaches to snow in Big Bear, to camping in Idyllwild and wineries in Temecula. Then there’s city life in Los Angeles or San Diego. Of course, prior to COVID it was easier to travel but I’m thankful things are starting to open up. I hike a lot for my own sanity. Living in Palm Springs, we’re surrounded by many mountains. We have hundreds of hiking trails, even ones with waterfalls. The season determines the best times to hike in different places. I enjoy hiking in every imaginable direction, from the Indian Canyons and up to the Palm Springs Arial Tramway. It’s also fun to ride bikes through downtown and check out many of the surrounding neighborhoods. The view of the mountains that surrounds us is breathtaking and beautiful. I also picked up golfing as a sport during Covid and I’m so proud of how far my game has come. I have such a love and respect for the sport. After eight years with my fiancé, I have finally given in to his favorite hobby and he has been wanting me to try the sport for quite some time. I’m happy to say we can golf together now, although he is a nine handicap and I am still trying to break 100 yards. Patience. I’m very athletic so I’m proud to have this under my belt along with many other sports I have played. I also love spending time with friends who keep me feeling young and alive. As for hot spots, I’m privileged to say that as a Palm Springs native I’ve enjoyed many of our unsung heroes of local cuisine and some of my favorite dishes are the Chile Verde at Marisol’s, the potato pancakes at Elmer’s, Chicken Giuliani at Sammy G’s Tuscan Grill and fresh fish tacos at Ruben & Ozzy’s.

Porsche DC Charging System at Porsche Palm Springs

Another exciting development at Porsche Palm Springs: The dealership just installed California’s first high-speed electric car charger designed specifically by Porsche.

Another exciting development at Porsche Palm Springs: The dealership just installed California’s first high-speed electric car charger designed specifically by Porsche. The state-of-the-art electric “turbo” charger - which can charge a drained electric vehicle to full capacity in less than a half hour - was designed specifically for the Taycan, Porsche’s first ever all-electric vehicle. It offers the fastest available charge in the world today. Unlike most conventional electric car chargers, which take hours to charge a car to full capacity, the Porsche high-speed charger can offer a full charge in just under 25 minutes. By comparison even existing “super chargers” take more than twice as long to offer the same level of charge. more The rapid Porsche Turbo Charger charging point was developed by Porsche Engineering. It sets new standards in terms of charging time. Depending on the vehicle model, up to 62 miles of travel can be charged in just five minutes. Owners of the fully electric Taycan are welcome to charge that model at Porsche Palm Springs. “Any Porsche owner visiting the store is welcome to charge their Taycan while they are here,” said Porsche Palm Springs General Manager Bram Zeegers, adding that in the near future the charger will be added to the Porsche Connect app. It’s appropriate that one of the fastest electric cars in the world just got a “Turbo Charger” to match its electric and often turbo-charged engine. In fact, the all-electric Taycan Turbo S recently set a quarter-mile record for electric cars. It also has one of the fastest zero-to-60 accelerations for an electric vehicle: a staggering 2.4 seconds. The Turbo S version of the dual-motor Taycan boasts 750 horsepower with a top speed of 201 mph. The Taycan provides range of about 250 miles. “As the first Gen 5 Porsche building in the world it seemed fitting to have the Porsche 800v charging system as early as we got it. Being the first Porsche dealership in California to have the system commissioned is an honor,” Zeegers said. “We hope to see more stores online in the near future. It will only help support all of our efforts to showcase Porsche’s dedication to electrification.” The Taycan battery operates by means of pouch cells, chemically optimized for maximum performance with a long range. The battery is also based on 800-volt technology instead of the usual 400 volts with the effecting being improved charging and drive performance with smaller cable cross-sections that reduce overall weight. The Taycan's charging system is recalibrated to better preserve the battery's service life and limit overall power loss during fast charging. The 4S comes with a 522-hp powertrain, 19-inch wheels, an adaptive air suspension, a partial leather interior, and keyless entry.

Destination Porsche Dealership at Night - Porsche Palm Springs

Porsche Palm Springs Makes Automotive History as the Prototype for a New Generation of Porsche Dealerships Worldwide

Destination Porsche isn’t Just a Building - it’s a State of Mind. Walking into Porsche Palm Springs you feel as though you’ve been rocketed into a high-tech automotive universe. As you stroll through various Porsche “worlds” surrounded by the latest models of some of the most stunning and powerful sportscars in the world, you find yourself immersed in what feels like the ultimate Porsche experience. (Outside of driving one, of course). Welcome to the future of Porsche. In fact, Porsche Palm Springs represents that future in a very real way. It’s the world’s first “next gen showroom” showcasing the German automaker’s new design philosophy: Destination Porsche. more The innovative concept emphasizes brand experience and inspiration as well as flexibility and use of digital media for communication with customers. The new generation of Porsche dealerships are intended to become a central gathering place for the Porsche community, which is made up of current and future customers. The Destination Porsche model being tested in Palm Springs is expected to be implemented at 850 existing Porsche dealerships worldwide in the coming decade. “In a world that is moving evermore digital, Porsche is investing in its physical stores - where experience, inspiration and digital meet,” explains Bram Zeegers, General Manager of Porsche Palm Springs. “Destination Porsche is intended to be a gathering place for clients as well as a retail concept that will enhance the customer experience.” Everything about the welcoming and technologically advanced building seems herald the dawning of a new automotive age, from the solar technology that brings power to Porsche’s electric vehicles to the tech-laden multi-sensory journey visitors enjoy as they browse the latest models. With its aluminum architecture sparkling in the sun, the modernist building’s open-feeling and hospitable atmosphere is further emphasized by the elevated glass façade on the main level. Aluminum panels above the main entrance - along with LED accent lighting on multiple floors  - showcase the futuristic design and even mirror the design of Porsche cars themselves. The shape of the louvers on the main façade evokes the famous haunches of Porsche’s most iconic sports car: the 911 Carrera. But it’s more than just a pretty façade. The building is a state-of-the-art LEED-certified structure that meshes seamlessly with Palm Spring’s world-renowned collection of modern, architecturally significant buildings and homes. The “green” design includes solar panels that not only power the building but also service and recharge the new Porsche Taycan, the brand’s first 100 percent electric vehicle and perhaps the automotive ambassador of “next gen” or Gen. 5 Porsche concept. Although the Taycan may represent the future of Porsche, every Porsche model is showcased within the sun-dappled 45,000-square-foot space. The 911, Cayman, and Cayenne, for instance, each have their own distinctive environment through which visitors can pass as they walk the interior “road.” In fact, the 2-year-old dealership offers 30% to 40% more inventory than the previous one. The interior layout also provides an exclusive tech-enabled immersive Porsche experience. Each of the showroom’s  “environments” or “worlds” serves to provide a multi-sensory experience via an audio/visual system (including 12 digital screens) that allows customers to experience their personal car configuration before buying. The layout is easy to customize to fit regional or individual trends. Modules, for instance, can represent current product highlights, E-Performance or Porsche Certified Pre-Owned cars. In other words, Destination Porsche encompasses a digital world that interacts seamlessly with customers. The virtual reality applications allow customers to experience their chosen car configuration, and touch screens make the Porsche products come alive in a way that is cutting edge and  interactive. This experience includes a tablet-based vehicle acceptance process, E-signature, online payment and other digital processes that elevate the customer’s experience and creates a highly personalized connection between customers and Porsche automobiles. Skylights bring natural light to the airy and open interior space. A walking bridge on the second floor is similar to one at the famous Porsche manufacturing facility in Stuttgart, Germany, where Porsche vehicles are transported atop a conveyor belt that transfers them to the next stage of assembly. Porsche Palm Springs also has a Porscheplatz, a social space with seating arrangements, as well as a café and a corner for kids. The second floor includes workspaces and a lounge that can be used to host special events. The expanded service department includes 12 service bays, two classic bays and two electric bays and an area where visitors can view the service area from behind a large window. A new and exciting Porsche concept. Porsche Palm Springs is a prototype of the company’s new architectural philosophy: Destination Porsche. Three more Destination Porsche dealerships have since opened in Dortmund, Germany, and Hangzhou, China, Quebec, Canada - with many more expected in the coming years. The cutting-edge building and showroom are the result of a partnership between Porsche and indiGO Auto Group, a luxury automotive dealer with 20 franchised dealerships in five U.S. markets. The building’s open concept not only includes the flexible “worlds” but provides a fun glimpse at Porsche’s legendary history via the “Classic Corner,” where one can check out such legends as the 1958 356 Speedster or the 1996 993 Turbo. “Overall, the impact is one of calm and awe,” Zeegers says. “The building’s tight lines and carefully thought out lounge area bring a sense of peace to its visitors while the open spaces, which are both wide and tall, welcome customers and encourage them to start exploring.” The open design also allows employees and customers to interact in the different worlds and lounge areas rather than retreating to offices. “It creates more of a hands-on approach using the physical attributes we have available as well as the digital tools that surround us in the building,” Zeegers explains. “And it’s an exciting atmosphere because we get people from all over the world who stop by because we are the first Gen. 5 Porsche Building in the world.” When visitors arrive, they face a lineup of cars that resembles a starting grid on a racetrack. Customers are surrounded by individual models from a specific line or highlighted topic - and can even enjoy classic Porsches of the past. Visitors can purchase or rent a Porsche, have their automobile serviced and also soak up the entire Porsche brand experience in a way that did not exist before Destination Porsche. And customers will always be able to recognize the Porsche dealership because the design of the building is just as evolutionary as the design of Porsche cars. With 191 Porsche dealerships in the United States, transforming them all into Destination Porsche buildings won’t happen overnight, according to Porsche. Instead, the rollout will happen gradually as each existing dealership is ready to upgrade. And although Porsche builds its cars in Germany, there’s perhaps no better place to own one than Southern California. Scenic roads, plenty of sunshine, and a long-term and vibrant “car culture” contribute to a large number of Porsches famously finding homes in the Golden State since the automaker first started sending its “356” runabouts to the United States in the early 1950s. In other words, Porsche has been a big part of the Golden State’s automotive history and part of its Hollywood-driven mystique. To create the first Destination Porsche in Palm Springs indiGO Auto Group founder Todd Blue worked with Porsche executives in Stuttgart, Germany, to determine everything from the building’s layout and architectural materials to the motifs and general vibe. He told Entrepreneur magazine that Porsche wanted to build something that didn’t just compete with other dealerships but could be instead compared to a luxury hotel or boutique or an Apple Store. “The idea is to take customers through a Porsche journey - step onto the road and immerse oneself into the brand's DNA, from past to present to future, through distinct environments that reflect and celebrate each model offering,” Blue told the magazine. “This facility is truly a destination. This is a dealership where one can purchase, be serviced, and also soak up the entire Porsche brand experience in a way that currently does not exist for automotive retail.” The new dealership is fast becoming a Palm Springs landmark, attracting the interest of customers and sportscar lovers alike. “Consumer trends are changing fast at the moment, so we decided to find out what the future of retail looks like for our brand. One outcome was a fresh take on dealership design, and Porsche Palm Springs is the result,”  Klaus Zellmer, then President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc., told Entrepreneur.   “We had to rethink everything, from the layout to the link between digital and analog, but I think we have created a lively space that inspires Porsche passion for enthusiasts and customers alike.”
