Porsche Ranks Number-One in 2016 US APEAL Study

Just a few days ago, we praised Porsche for the company’s financial success in the first half of 2016, due in part to the release of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models. That fiscal victory would not be possible without the manufacturer’s ability to impress and please drivers. Just yesterday, Porsche ranked number-one in JD Power and Associates’ 2016 US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. The benchmark test has been in use by JD Power and Associates for 21 years, and it measures automobile owners’ emotional attachment and level of excitement based on “ 77 attributes, ranging from the power they feel when they step on the gas to the sense of comfort and luxury they feel when climbing into the driver’s seat.” JD Power and Associates’ APEAL study found that consumers are much more highly satisfied with vehicles that provide enhanced safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring and collision avoidance. Vice President of JD Power’s US Automotive Quality division, Renee Stephens, described, “Technology-enabled safety features help drivers feel more comfortable and confident while driving their vehicles. These features are also ‘gateway technologies’ to autonomous driving capabilities, so the continued level of consumer interest in them will be a critical metric to watch as the industry evolves toward including more automation in new vehicles.” Porsche proudly claims many of these special safety features in addition to other appealing attributes, like the launch of new vehicles, a smooth transmission, and top-notch technology. These accolades led Porsche to the number-one rank in JD Powers and Associates’ APEAL study with an overall score of 877 index points (on a 1,000-point scale). The powerful luxury car manufacturer has held this honor for 12 consecutive years, and is proud to present a lineup of cars that continually excite and amaze drivers. JD Power and Associates also recognized three Porsche models at the tops of their categories. The 911 ranked highest in the Midsize Premium Sporty Car Segment, improving by 20 points; the Boxster won the Compact Premium Sporty Car Segment, up by 17 points; and the Macan took the stage in the Compact Premium SUV Segment for the second year in a row. BRAVO to Porsche for this amazing recognition in JD Power and Associates’ APEAL Study. indiGO Auto Group is proud to represent such a remarkable luxury brand in three of our markets— Houston, St. Louis, and Rancho Mirage. Three Technology Features In The Porsche 718 Boxster To Know About

The Porsche 718 Boxster not only looks impressive on the outside but it has three exciting technical innovations on the inside that we're excited to share with you. The four-cylinder turbo vehicle features PSM Sport Mode, a Sport Response Button, and a Dynamic Boost Function to make driving a Porsche even more thrilling. Porsche Stability Management. The PSM (Porsche Stability Management) Sport Mode allows drivers to explore performance limits such as on a circuit track or winter driver training on a low-friction surface along with hard braking. It provides a sportier road-feel to the vehicle and the driver can maneuver the vehicle with better agility. This function can be turned on or off at anytime the driver desires. Sport Response Button. Unleash power with a push of a button. The 718 Boxster provides adrenaline with the Sport Response Button.  It's  located on the steering wheel and gives the driver 20 seconds of maximum acceleration. Dynamic Boost Function. The Dynamic Boost Function enables the turbo in the car by maintaining the charge pressure during load changes (for example, when the accelerator pedal is released briefly). This is achieved by just interrupting fuel injection, whereas the throttle valve remains open. As a result, the engine reacts with practically no delay to another press of the accelerator pedal These three technical innovations within the Porsche 718 Boxster provide great performance, agility, and spontaneous response. Making for a more quick and efficient car, all while remaining comfortable. Want to learn more about the 718 Boxster? Contact one of our Porsche specialists today at Porsche of Rancho Mirage.

MACAN

According to indiGO Auto Group CEO, Todd Blue, 2016 Is The Year For Crossover SUVs

Automotive News released an article today forecasting that the Macan will be Porsche’s new top-seller. A leader from Porsche’s dealer advisory board said targeted sales of around 17,000 vehicles in 2016 is that will make this crossover become the top-selling nameplate this year. “Two new models on sale this year will help the Macan overtake its big brother crossover, the Porsche Cayenne, said Todd Blue, CEO of indiGO Auto Group, which has three Porsche stores, in St. Louis, Houston and Rancho Mirage, California. Customer enthusiasm for the compact-cross-over segment is another factor.” Mr. Blue added, “Porsche executives have long expected the Macan to become the brand's top-seller, and, with supplies freeing up, it looks like 2016 will be the year the Macan passes the Cayenne. But Cayenne sales are likely to increase this year, too.” Automotive News reported the Macan was the brand’s second largest seller in 2015 behind on the Cayenne. Porsche sold 3,533 Macans in 2015. Mr. Blue predicts, "The growth is going to come in 2016 from crossover SUVs." Once production of the new Macan variants has normalized, Mr. Blue expects 20 percent of the nameplate's sales to come from the four-cylinder model and another 15 to 20 percent from the new GTS.
